Extending its offering of agricultural telehandlers, Manitou has launched two new models, the MLT 841 and MLT 1041.
The new models which both have a lift capacity of 4.1 tonnes, are the first to enter the manufacturer’s NewAg XL line-up, which it says is a new heavy duty platform based on performance and comfort.
With a lifting height of 7,600mm for the MLT 841 and 9,650mm for the MLT 1041, the manufacturer says they have been designed for intensive applications, quoting a typical usage of more than 1,300 hours per year. It adds they are aimed primarily at large farms, including anaerobic digester units and large grain stores as well as agricultural contractors.
Both models are fitted with a Stage 5 Yanmar engine producing 141hp, which the manufacturer says has 12 per cent more torque while reducing fuel consumption by 11 per cent compared to previous models.
Transmission fitted is a torque converter with automatic powershift gearbox capable of 40kph. Maintenance features have been addressed too, with a two-part opening of the engine bay, centralised greasing points and a new hatch in front of the radiator for quicker cleaning.
Hydraulic flow from the load sensing pump is 200 litres/minute.
The manufacturer says the cab is one of the quietest on the market at 69dB and comparable to those of high range tractors in fit, finish and vibration levels.
The new loaders come with an extensive options list, one of which is a pneumatic seat with intelligent suspension, which is said to adapt automatically to any surface, reducing vibrations by more than 50 per cent and offering protection for the operator’s back.
In addition, there is a high view camera option, allowing the operator to view the inside of the trailer when loading and Active CRC boom suspension is said to reduce jolting when driving with a load. Also included are the manufacturer’s Comfort Steering System with variable assist steering, which reduces the number of steering wheel turns by 40 per cent and the Intelligent Hydraulics package, which includes bucket shaker, return to load position and combined telescopic boom movement features.
The manufacturer has also used the introduction of the new loaders to launch a new specification package, called Platinum, superior to its three existing specs of Classic, Premium and Elite. If selected it comes with all the aforementioned options, as well as LED work and headlights, automatic greasing system and the firm’s Ecostop, which automatically shuts off the engine after a predefined idling time.
