Effective from the start of October 2020, Agco has agreed changes with existing dealer partners in northern England and Scotland on the distribution of its Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra brands.
The parent company says these changes, which will be fully implemented by April 1, 2021, are designed to help its long-term strategy of brand differentiation and full-line responsibility, as well as allowing the growth of its respective marques.
Under these changes, Carrs Billington becomes an exclusive Massey Ferguson dealer and will take on an extended territory across the southern portion of Scotland. The dealership will continue to operate from established outlets in Annan, Carlisle, Penrith, Morpeth, Hexham and Barnard Castle, with another location anticipated to open in south west Scotland to support its extended area.
The distribution of Fendt products in this area will be dealt with via three existing Agco dealers. Johnston Tractors will add the Fendt franchise to the Valtra franchise already held in Carlisle, Penrith and Dumfries, while Brockhills of Yorkshire will extend its existing Fendt responsibilities further north, serviced from its Thirsk depot.
Ancroft Tractors will also extend its Fendt territory south from the Berwick-upon-Tweed and Kelso depots to complete the full coverage of the brand across the area, while also continuing its long-established representation of Massey Ferguson.
In addition, Valtra’s existing dealerships CAM Engineering, based from premises in Castle Douglas, will expand its territory responsibilities to cover the south west Scotland, while Alistair Young Engineering, at Dunphail near Forres, will also expand west to support customers across the Black Isle and northern Scotland.
