Agco and its brands, Fendt and Massey Ferguson, have announced Geringhoff-built headers will be offered to complement its combines, in particular the flagship Ideal harvesters, as demand for specialist combine harvester headers has increased in recent years.
A long-term partnership has been agreed between Agco and Geringhoff, based in Ahlen, Westphalia, Germany. The former says it is more beneficial to use an established third partner, rather than going to the expense of developing its own headers.
Manufacturing draper headers, corn pickers, headers for special crops and folding headers, Agco says the Geringhoff products will complement its current portfolio, with wider headers for its ideal combines. Geringhoff already has several maize headers running in the UK, however the drapers will be new to the market.
Included in the agreement is the manufacturer’s Truflex draper headers up to 13.7 metres in width, with split frame and reel for ground adaptation, and an optional flexible cutterbar for lower pickup losses in stalk and bean cutting. It also provides specialist headers for crops such as maize, sunflowers and millet. The existing range of Agco headers; FreeFlow, PowerFlow and CornFlow will still be available.
New headers will be available to order for the 2021 season, with the 13.7m Geringhoff Truflex draper coming in at £81,000.
